CSR Partnerships

This Is Not a Donation. This Is a Partnership.

There is a fundamental difference between writing a cheque to an NGO and building a partnership with one. A donation is transactional — money is given, a receipt is issued, the relationship ends there. A partnership is strategic — two organisations commit to a shared goal, combine their resources and expertise, measure outcomes together, and hold each other accountable.

When your company chooses to partner with the S.K.R. Pupils Welfare Society (SKRPWS), you are not making a donation. You are investing in a specific, measurable, independently verifiable social outcome — the education, rehabilitation, and empowerment of differently-abled children in one of India’s most underserved rural regions.

SKRPWS offers your company more than a Schedule VII compliance mechanism. We offer a 25-year track record of impact, a multi-disciplinary team working across seven programmes, government-recognised schools and therapy centres, complete financial transparency, and the kind of field-level story that resonates — genuinely — with employees, customers, investors, and boards.

This page tells you what a partnership with SKRPWS looks like, what you get from it, what we expect from it, and exactly what your investment creates in the lives of differently-abled children in Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh.

25 Years of Impact — What Your Investment Joins

Why Partner with SKRPWS? Eight Compelling Reasons

There are thousands of NGOs in India eligible for CSR funding. A discerning CSR team will ask: why this one? Here are eight specific, evidence-backed reasons why SKRPWS is an exceptional CSR partner.

S.No Reason Why It Matters to Your CSR Programme
1. 25-Year Operational Track Record No start-up risk. No unproven model. SKRPWS has been operating since 1999 — the longest-standing disability welfare NGO in Prakasam District. Your investment joins an institution, not an experiment.
2 Deep Grassroots Presence in Rural Andhra Pradesh SKRPWS does not operate from a city office — it lives in the communities it serves. Both campuses are physically present in Chimakurthy and Kanigiri, serving children who live within walking or short travel distance. Your CSR rupee travels to the last mile, not to administrative infrastructure in an urban centre.
3 Laser-Focused Specialisation in Disability Education SKRPWS does one thing and does it with extraordinary depth: disability education and rehabilitation for hearing-impaired and intellectually disabled children. This is not a generalist welfare NGO. Your investment funds deep expertise, not broad ambition.
4 Complete Legal Compliance and Certification Societies Act registration (1860), PWD Act recognition (1995), National Trust registration, Section 12A, Section 80G, DDRS funding, DEO school recognition, SADAREM linkage, and Schedule VII CSR alignment — every compliance box is ticked, every document is current.
5 Government-Recognised and Government-Funded SKRPWS is already trusted by the Government of India (Ministry of Social Justice, DDRS scheme) and the Government of Andhra Pradesh. When a government funds an NGO, it signals verified credibility. Your CSR investment co-funds work that the government itself has endorsed.
6 Transparent, Audit-Ready Financial Management Audited annual financial statements. Programme-level utilisation certificates. Quarterly progress reports. Donor-specific fund tracking. No black boxes. SKRPWS gives CSR partners the documentation they need for their own board reporting, CSR committee review, and annual sustainability reports.
7 High and Measurable Social Return on Investment (SROI) Every Rs. 25,000 invested sponsors one child’s complete year of education, therapy, and residential care. Every Rs. 5,000 provides one assistive device. Every Rs. 30 lakhs covers a school’s annual operating costs for 96 children. The impact-per-rupee ratio at SKRPWS is exceptional — because operational overheads are minimised and programme delivery is direct.
8 A Story That Resonates — Internally and Externally The children at SKRPWS are not statistics. They are children who arrived without a language and left with sign language, skills, and confidence. CSR partnerships with SKRPWS generate compelling employee engagement stories, authentic social media content, and powerful annual report narratives — because the impact is real, visible, and moving.

Schedule VII Alignment — Your Legal CSR Compliance Framework

Under Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013, qualifying companies are required to spend 2% of their average net profits on CSR activities as defined in Schedule VII. SKRPWS’s work aligns with multiple Schedule VII categories — making contributions to SKRPWS not just strategically valuable but legally compliant CSR expenditure.

Item Schedule VII Category How SKRPWS Qualifies
(ii) Promoting Education Two government-recognised free residential schools for 154 differently-abled children. IEP-based education from Pre-Primary to Grade 10. Sign language instruction, speech therapy, and individualised academic programmes — all at zero cost to BPL families.
(i) Eradicating Extreme Poverty & Hunger All SKRPWS services — education, therapy, residential care, meals, assistive devices — delivered at zero cost to families. Exclusively serving Below Poverty Line (BPL) communities in rural Prakasam District where no alternative services exist.
(iii) Promoting Gender Equality & Women’s Empowerment Women and girls from vulnerable communities supported through child rights promotion, financial literacy programming, vocational training, and community empowerment initiatives across Chimakurthy and surrounding mandals.
(iii) Reducing Inequalities — Marginalized Groups Exclusively focused on the most underserved groups: hearing-impaired children, intellectually disabled children, children with dual disabilities, Scheduled Tribe (ST) children, and BPL families in rural and tribal communities.
(ii) Vocational Skills Enhancement Skills & Vocational Training programme — tailoring and computer skills for differently-abled youth, with active employment placement and entrepreneurship development support. 80% employment rate among trained graduates.
(i) Promoting Healthcare & Sanitation Weekly medical check-ups, nutritional monitoring, hygiene education, and health screening camps for residential students. Aids & Appliances Programme distributing hearing aids and mobility devices across 20+ villages.
(x) Rural Development Projects SKRPWS operates exclusively in rural Prakasam District — Chimakurthy, Kanigiri, and surrounding mandals. All programmes are community-based, community-integrated, and designed to strengthen rural livelihoods and inclusion.
(ii) Special Education for Differently-Abled Children This is the primary and founding mission of SKRPWS. Special education for hearing-impaired and intellectually disabled children — the most direct and specific interpretation of Schedule VII disability education provisions.
